Channel Empathy.

We are here to make the world a better place and it all starts with us caring for one another. Empathy is a powerful way to step outside of what you might be experiencing and understanding it from other perspectives. Channel empathy for all those you interact with at the event.

Be Respectful.

Let’s not only hack how to be respectful for our planet, but also how to be respectful to one another especially when conflicts or confusions occur. We expect all of our guests to respect the facility, the volunteers, the sponsors, and any or all other event representatives. The sheer size of our event means we will have strict rules in place to support your enjoyment, safety, and memory of the event. Please respect our event guidelines.

Raise Your Awareness.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to: gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or political views, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, photography or audio/video recording against reasonable consent, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome sexual attention, offensive comments based on previous hackathon attendance, computing experience, chosen programming language, and knowledge of technology stack.

Our hackathon is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment and harassment-free experience for everyone.

If you are being harassed or notice how someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of hackathon staff immediately. Hackathon staff will be happy to help participants contact any local security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the hackathon.

Spirit of Innovation.

We are huge proponents of collaboration, bringing energy, ideas, and people to life, and we hope you feel the same spirit of innovation at our event. We encourage you to think beyond your existing limits, to expand your connections further, and to spark imagination. Our mentors, staff, sponsors, representatives, and staff will help you through this journey. More importantly, this is an opportunity to support one another.

For healthy minds, we urge participants to stay hydrated, nourished, take breaks, and sleep well for maximum enjoyment.
