Applicant – someone wishing to attend an Event
Attendee – an individual holding a Confirmation of attendance from the Event Organiser Confirmation – this is a written message, usually delivered by email, expressly confirming the attendance of an individual.
Event – this is any bookable meeting organised by the Event Organiser, online or offline, for which an individual confirms their attendance through the provision of Personal Information and Payment (if required).
Personal Information – this is the selection of data about an individual which is required by the Event Organiser to allocate a place at the Event. Management of Personal Information is governed by the Privacy Policy of the Event Organiser.
Privacy Policy – this is a statement of how the Event Organiser manages the Personal Information of individuals with whom it is in contact.
Registration – this is the act of using the process and tools provided by the Event Organiser to secure attendance at the Event. Registration typically involves the applicant supplying Personal Information and Payment in order to secure a place at an Event.
Attendees will have followed the instructions of the Event Organisers to register for the Event. In response to your application, the Event Organiser will issue a Confirmation. Your place is guaranteed only if you are in receipt of a Confirmation.
The Event Organiser may refuse your Application at their sole discretion, for example in the case of venue or online capacity having been reached.
Payment must be made at the time and using the methodology prescribed in order to receive Confirmation of attendance at the event. Where an Event requires payment, the Event Organiser will furnish a VAT invoice on receipt of payment.
Events are often held in premises not directly owned or managed by the Event Organiser. The Applicant agrees to be bound by any regulations pertaining to the venue and Event, whether imposed by the Event Organiser or by the manager of the venue.
The Event Organiser will make reasonable endeavours to highlight any unusual regulations or restrictions when promoting the Event. For Events at which hospitality is provided, Applicants accept full individual responsibility for the selection and consumption of food and drink accepted.
The Event Organiser may change the content of the event from the promoted material at their sole discretion so long as the character and key purpose of the Event remains unchanged. The Event Organiser may change the venue of the event from the promoted venue at their sole discretion. The Event Organiser must bear in mind reasonable travel expectations of Attendees in this case.
For chargeable events, refunds are not permitted after Confirmation is issued and payment has been made.
Should the Event Organisers be unable to run the event as promoted, holders of a Confirmation will be entitled to a refund of payment.
Resale of places is not permitted. In the event that the Attendee is unable to attend, their place may be transferred to another individual in the same organisation as the Attendee at the sole discretion of the Event Organiser. Tickets may not be transferred outside an organisation.
Change requests are permitted up to 1 week before an event. If accepted, changes will bear an administration fee. The new Applicant may attend only if they are in receipt of a Confirmation issued by the Event Organiser.
Attendance is at the sole risk of the Attendee. The liability of the Event Organiser is limited to the extent permitted by UK law.
